Be Ready to Festival! DIY: floral headband!
With festival season in full bloom your floral headband will be perfect. Fashion staples such as fringe, cutoff denim and dip-dyed hair are coming back out to play for concert-filled weekends at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Coachella and many other music festivals happening all over the country.
Another huge trend that seems to have the invisible “FESTIVALS ONLY” warning sign are flower headbands (but let us be real, you can wear these anytime of year and at any location your little heart desires). They hide bad hair days, they come in an unending variety of colors or flower types, and they are so cute! Not to mention that they’re super easy to make.
STEP ONE: Things you need
-hot glue gun
STEP TWO: (optional)
Wrap the elastic around your head and cut to the appropriate length.
Take a pencil and mark the center and the two sides of your head. This is so you know where to stop attaching flowers.
This step is optional if you want to cover the whole headband with flowers.
STEP THREE: Cut the flowers and leaves
Make sure to cut the little green stems off the flowers so you can glue them down flat later.
STEP FOUR: Glue the leaves
Place the leaves down flat at different angles so they stick out behind the flowers. This will make a base for your headband.
Be careful with the hot glue!
STEP FIVE: Glue the flowers
Now place your flowers in clusters on top of the leaves.
Glue the ends of your elastic together. Double check before gluing!
Let it sit for two to three minutes so it can dry completely before trying it on. You do not want hot glue in your hair 🙂
Voila! That was super easy, right? In under 15 minutes you’ve just created your own, unique flower headband that you can rock out with for the spring.
