Get The Look : Scarlett Johansson

scarlettHow to get the look of Scarlett Johansson ? Ten years ago Scarlett Johansson was rocking a mullet, now she's the face of Dolce & Gabbana Beauty. At the premiere of her latest project, a Broadway revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, she struck a sophisticated balance between that rock 'n' roll past and her more sophisticated present, pairing a glossy bold lip with a messy chignon. Apparently, a modern touch works just as well on a beauty look as it does on a Tennessee Williams play.

Makeup artist Gianpaolo Ceciliato began with two shades of Dolce & Gabbana's Perfect Finish Creamy Foundation ($66) to gently contour the actress' face while creating a flawless look. "I used a lighter shade under the eyes, on the center of the forehead and on the chin, and a darker one around the hairline and on her jaw, cheeks, and neck," he says. "Then I carefully blended the foundations together." To keep the skin fresh, Ceciliato skipped setting powder, but brushed Dolce & Gabbana's Luminous Cheek Color ($44) in Apricot on the apples of Johansson's cheeks. For a similar look try Maybelline's Fit Me! Pressed Powder Blush ($6) in Sweet Cinnamon.

Ceciliato started with Dolce & Gabbana's Crayon Intense Eyeliner ($29) in Stromboli, lining the waterline of the actress' eyes. Then he reached for the brand's Smooth Eye Colour Quad ($75) in Femme Fatale, applying the shimmery white shade to the actress' upper lid and inner corners for brightness. "I blended the black eye shadow at the roots of the lashes on the top and bottom and then blended out with the shimmery brown," he says. (For similar shades pick up the Eye Couture Day-to-Night Eye Palette ($30) by Tarte.) To finish Johansson's eyes he applied individual eyelashes and a thick coat of Dolce & Gabbana's Secret Eyes Mascara ($29) in Black.

While most makeup artists opt for a matte bold lip, Ceciliato went glossy, applying Dolce & Gabanna'sPrecision Lip Liner ($30) in #5 Fire under the brand's Passion Duo Gloss Fusion Lipstick ($34) in #160 Incognito. We also like Revlon's Colorburst Lip Butter ($7) in Candy Apple over Shiseido's Smoothing Lip Pencil ($20) in Siren to get this look.

"This is a pretty basic style that's also elegant--and very cool," says hairstylist Sean Mikel. He prepped Johansson's wet hair with Oribe's Volumista Mist ($38) and rough-dried her locks until they were 90 percent dry. "I finished the blowout with a round brush for added lift and volume," Mikel says. "Then, using vertical sections on the crown, I backcombed for height before I clipped the top sections aside." Mikel smoothed the rest of the actress' hair back and began to twist her locks into a chignon. Once a firm base was created Mikel secured it with bobby pins, letting the length hang loose. "Release the top section and brush it back with a nylon/boar bristle combination brush," Mikel says. He incorporated the top section into the rest of the hair and continued to make a chignon before securing with pins. To finish, Mikel set the actress' locks with a heavy amount of Oribe's Superfine Strong Hair Spray ($36). "Make sure you can only see the twist on one side," Mikel says. "That keeps it modern." As edgy as a mullet, but much more glamorous.
